Nutella is really tasty and goes well with fruit, on toast, or just plain. But the store-bought version isn’t so healthy. I’ve come across a simple recipe that is a little better for you than the pre-made version. This nutella recipe is simple and doesn’t entail heating milk or melting chocolate. You just need a food processor to mix the ingredients.
You can make a double batch of this recipe if you think you’ll need extra. Just store the leftovers in the refrigerator. Adjust the amount of oil according to how creamy you want it to turn out.
Makes 6 ounces
1 cup toasted hazelnuts, peeled
1/4 cup dark cocoa powder
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
4 tablespoons canola oil
Place the hazelnuts in your food processor and blend continuously until they turn into a smooth butter, about 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and continue blending until smooth and creamy. If stored in the refrigerator. The nutella is good for 2 weeks.
